Predators, an ongoing series, reflects my concern over the inevitable loss of both urban and rural habitats of local wildlife. The animals are presented in the foreground, their gaze oblique, their confrontation with the viewer unflinching and their presence - like the past – uncompromising. You, the viewer are at an even greater distance. Whether it’s a safe distance or not is debatable.
All paintings are acrylic on birch, aspen, rowan, linden or jacaranda wood. Round shapes range from 5.5 to 7.75 inches in diameter. Ovals range from 5 to 44 inches in height x 1.75 to 12 inches in width.
